HomeMy WebLinkAbout6710_00'r . t r I ORDINANCE N0. 6710 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $1, 195.50 OUT OF THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY AUXILIARY POLICE; DIRECTING THE PAYMENT OF SAID AMOUNT TO VARIOUS PARTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES_. WHEREAS, various auxiliary police have performed valuable and useful services for the City of Little Rook for a period of many months, and WHEREAS, in discharging their duties as auxiliary police, vari- ous members have incurred expenses which should be met by the City of Little Rook, now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The sum of $1,195.50 is hereby appropriated out of the general funds of the City of Little Rock for paymentto the parties listed below in the amounts set opposite their names: Andy Aaron Guy Redmond J. Lipke Phil Back Buddy Breier Raymond Squires Mr. Leath Mr. Wolf 170 nights 0 $1.50 - $255.00 153 " 6 $1.50 - 229.50 150 " 0 $1.50 - 225.00 143 " a $1.50 - 214.50 80 " 6 $1.50 - 120.00 73 " -$1.50 - 109.50 12 " A $1.50 - 18.00 12 " 0 $1.50 - 18.00 4 " a $1.50 - 6900 Total 797 $1,195.50 The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to issue the warrants of the City to the parties mentioned above in the amounts set opposite their names in full payment of any and g11 claims that said persons named may have through October 31, 1944 by virtue of any services they may have performed as auxiliary police of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 2. Because the parties named in Section of this Ordin- • &nee have advanced moneys out of their own funds to assist the City of Little Rook in the discharge of its police functions and in the maintenance of law and order; and because the parties named above are entitled to immediate repayment; and because such payment is necessary to continue to make auxiliary police available; and be- cause auxiliary police are needed to maintain law and order in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, an emergency.is.hereby declared to exist, Fn'� r r and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and effect immedi- ately upon its passage.
