AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF SECRETARY IN THE OFFICE OF
THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RECREATION; ALLOWING A SUM TO THE DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC RECREATION TO COVER THE EXPENSES OF OPERATIYG HIS CAR;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES*
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSASt
SECTION 1. There is hereby created the position of
secretary in the office of the Director o.-.i -lio Recreation in
the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. A person to fill the position created in
Section 1 shall be chosen by the Civil Service Commission in the
manner provided by law, and shall receive a salary of $125.00 per
month, payable as other salaries are paid to employees of the
City of Little Rock. The duties of the position of secretary to
the Director of Public Recreation of the City of Little Rock, shall
be to prepare and conduct correspondence at the direction of the
Director of Public Recreation, to file any correspondence or
other papers as directed by the said Director of Public Recreation,
and to perform such other duties as the Director of Public
Recreation may assign.
SECTION 39 The Director of Public Recreation is hereby
allowed the sum of $50.00 per month to recompense him for expenses
incurred by him in the operation of his automobile in the conduct
of his official duties. This allowance is in lieu of furnishing
and maintaining an automobile for the use of the Director of Public
Recreation.
SECTION 4. Because the adequate discharge of the duties
of the Director of Public Recreation requires that he have sufficient,
office help, and that he be able to travel about the City in the
discharge of his duties; because these things are necessary for the
establishment of a public recreation program for the people of Little
Rook, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
being necessary-for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety, shall be-in full force and effect from and after its passage.
