AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE SECRETARY IN THE OFFICE OF
THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RECREATION; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The monthly salary of the Secretary in the Office
of the Director of Public Recreation is hereby fixed at $137.50
payable as other salaries are paid City employees of the City of
Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The salary fixed in Section 1 of this ordinance
shall be effective as of and after January 15, 1945.
SECTION 3. Because the establishment of an adequate recrea-
tional program for the citizens of Little Rock is found to be
essential to their health and well- being; and because the estab-
lishment and maintenance of such a program requires the services
of an adequately paid secretary, and because the salary fixed in
Section 1 of this ordinance will enable the City to employ an
appropriate secretary, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
