AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING I'HE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO PURCHASE
CERTAIN FIRE HOSE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTI.IENT AND TO SELL CERTAIN
APPARATUS FORMERLY USED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized and
directed to purchase in the manner provided by law, the following
for use of the Little Rock Fire Department:
2,000 feet of 22 inch fire hose in
SO foot lengths, with couplings.
SECTION 2. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise for bids and to make a sale of the following
apparatus formerly used by the Fire Department:
The old No. 1 machine bought in 1916
and now stored in the basement of the
Central Fire Station in Little Mock,
Arkansas.
SECTION 3. Because the fire hose mentioned in Section 1 of this
ordinance is urgently needed to give fire protection of the citizens
of Little Rock, and their property, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health and safety and shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
