AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO GUS BLASS COMPANY THE RIGHT TO
CONSTRUCT, REPAIR, AND MAINTAIN A PASSAGEWAY UNDER MAIN STREET,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
1l EM AS, Gus Blass company is the owner of Lot Four (4),
Block Four (4), City of Little Rock, and also is the Lessee of
Lot Nine (9), Block Seventy -six (76)9 City of Little Rock, which
F a is directly across Main Street from said Lot Four (4). Block Four
(4), and.
WHEREAS, the said Gus Blass Company is desirous of con-
structing a passageway under Main Street for conveying merchandise
from one building to the other:
NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCS:
SECTION 1. That in consideration of the payment by Gus
Plass Company, an Arkansas corporation, its successors and assigns,
of the sum of $25.00 per annum, which shall be due and payable in
advance for each year during the term of this grant,
The said Gus.Blass Company, its successors and assigns,
are hereby granted permission to construct, repair, and.ffi_
tain for a period of ten (10) 'years from the date of this.

Little Rock, to the property line of Lot Nine (9), Block

sageway to be approximately four feet in diameter and to
consist of a steel pipe or casing.
This grant is conditioned that the said grantee, Gus
Blass Company, its successors and assigns, shall not begin
the construction of said passageway- ountil the plans and
specifications therefor have been approved by the City Engineer
and that such construction, repair, and maintenance shall in
no manner affect or interfere with existing utility lines
or sewers which have heretofore been laid under the street.

nation of said ten - year period or any renewal thereof fill
in the said passageway with dirt or other material and restore
the area under the street to its present condition or in such
manner as may be approved by the then City Engineer.

SECTICK 2. This ordinance shall be in force and take
effect only upon its acceptance in writing on the margin of the
record of this ordinance when recorded, within 60 days after its.
passage.
SECTION 3• All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
