AN ORDINANCE APPROVING REVISED RATE SCHEDULE
NO. 3 OF THE LITTLE ROCF MUNICIPAL WATER -WORKS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; FIXING THE EFFECTIVE
DATE OF SAID SCHEDULE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, The Board of Water Works Commissioners of the City
of Little Rock, has by proper resolution determined upon a rate
reduction of approximately ;54,000 per annum and providing for the
establishment of a new schedule of rates to become effective upon
all bills presented to consumers on and after November 1, 1945.p
and have presented to the Mayor and the City Council of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas a copy of said schedule with the request
that the City Council make said new schedule of rates effective;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIl`TLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the following schedule of rates be and the
same is hereby established and approved:

OF THE
LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS
APPLICATION.
This schedule is applicable to all water and water service
supplied by the Little Rock I4Zunicipal Water Works from and after the
effective date hereof.
METER MEASURE r2ENT .
All water and water service supplied by the Little Rock
Municipal Water Works shall be measured through meters, except that
used from Fire Hydrants .for the prevention and extinguishme.it of
fires, and that reasonably necessary for flushing of streets and
sewers, testing of fire hydrants, and practice of city firemen.
RATES.
METERED SERVICE
Subject to the meter minima and penalties hereinafter set
out the following rates shall apply to all measured water service,
except that supplied the City of Little Rock

Note.
- -One cubic foot of water is equivalent to 72
gallons weighing
62z pounds
avoirdupois.
All water used by the City of Little Rock and not included
in the water furnished under the Public Fire Service Clause hereof
shall be metered and paid for at the rate of 6.75 per hundred cubic
feet, and shall not be subject to the :peter minima.
METER MINIMA
For 2 -inch meter (5/8-inch thread) X0.94 per month, except
for residences occupied by one family Navin,, one water fixture, only,
the minimum charge for water service shall be 71X per month.
For meters larger than � -ir_ch (5/8 -inch thread) the minimum
charges for water service shall be proportional to the area of the size
of the meter, based on a minimum of "110.94 per month for 2 -inch meter
(5/8-inch thread) .
The size of the meter shall be commensurate with the use of
water, and shall be determined by the Water Commission.
PRIVATE FIRE SERVICE
Private fire service connections for private premises outside
the City Limits shall pay the following fire service charges:
Automatic Sprinkler System - 1,000 heads or less
subject to a minimum charge of ;27.50 per year
(All additional heads at 2 -3/4� each)

PUBLIC FIRE SERVICE
The City of Little Rock shall pay to the Little Rock Muni-
cipal Water Works for the privilege of taking water from fire hydrants
for the prevention and extinguishment of fires, and that reasonably
necessary for the flushing of streets, and sewers, testing fire hydrx., ts,
and the practice of city firemen, a fire hydrant rental of ,;23.33 per
hydrant per year.

BILLING
All bills shall be computed and rendered monthly.
Payments for Private Fire Service are to be made in equal
semi- annual installments in advance on the first day of January and
July.
All annual rates for public fire service shall be payable
in twelve equal monthly installments by the City of Little Rock on
or before the twentieth ( 20th) day of each month for service furnished
the preceding month.
PENALTY AND DISCONTINUAITCE OF SERVICE
Where water bills are not paid before the twentieth (20th)
day following the original date of billing, a ten per cent (10 %) penalty
shall be added to the original bill. If the bills are not paid within
thirty days from rendition, service shall be discontinued, and the
premises shall be disconnected from the water system.
EFFECTIVE DATE OF SCF -EEULE
This schedule shall become effective on all billings on
and after November 1, , 1945.
Section 2. That all ordinances, parts of ordinances,
establishing rate schedules for water or water service, supplied
or to be supplied, by the City of Little Rock through its muni-
cipal water works system, be and the same are hereby repealed,
set aside and held for naught.
Section 3. That ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
