BE IT aRDAI IED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE hOC' , A3KANSAS; SECTION 1. The -position of Assistant City Engineer is hereby created in the EnSinecrinq Department. The person to fill this posi- tion shall be chosen by the Civil Service Commission in the manner provided by law and shall be answerable directly to the City. Engineer, shall be capable of discharging; any responsibilities in the City Engineer's office that may be entrusted to him by the City Engineer and stall receive such salary as nay be fixed from time to time by the City Engine or and the Hayor, not to be le s than 0225.00 a month and not to be more than $275.00 a month. SECTION 2. There is hereby created the position of draftsman in the Engineering; Departnent. The person to fill this chosen by the Civil Service Commission in the manner and shall receive such salary as may be filed by the the Mayor, not to be less than $175.00 per month nor x;200.00 per month. The person to fill this position du ;7 of _ro wring all maps that may be needed in the position shall be provided by law City Engineer and in excess of shall hAve the Engineering De- partment and related departments, Zatherin` and assembling all in- formation that may be necessary for said maps, performing the ordinary duties of draftsman on :er the di rection of the City Engineer, including any clerical duties that may be a.ssocinted with any of the above, and such other duties as the City Engineer may assign to him from time to time. SECTION 3. Lecause the City at the present time does not have the services anticipated in Sections 1 and 2 of this Ordinance, and because. such services are necessary for the efficient functioning of the City Engineer's office, and for the proper planning and discharge of the City's functions, and because the absence of such service inter- feres with the orderly and efficient growth of the City to the prejudice { of the Citizens, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this 0 Ordinance is found to be necessary for the preserv<tion of the public peace, health and safety, and shall b e in full force and effect from and after its -passage.
