AN ORDINAINCE LEVYING A TAX ON THE PRIVILEGE OF COIZUCTING
A COI`IFECTIJNER'S BMSIP,ESS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT JRDAI IED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE R'OO'K, A_�KAITSAS:
SECTIOt 1. It is hex-eby declared to be a privilege for
any person, firm or corporation within the City of Little :lock.,
Arkansas, to engage in the business of a Confectioner. A
Confectioner is defined to be any person, firm or corporation
that sells at retail, any of the following: Cigars, CiSarettes, or
ocher Tobacco products, Ice Cream, Cold Drinks, A,_ilk, Cheering
Gum, Candy and /or Cakes.
SECTION 2. No person, firm or corporation shall engage in
the business of a Confectioner .vithout first obtaining from the
City Collector a Confectioner's license, Which license shall be
issued by the City Collector to any applicant on payment of an
Annual privilege tax of Five Dollars (,;5.00). Any licenses so
issued shall expire on December 31st of the year for which issued.
SECTION 3. It is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor for any
person, firm or corporation to engage in the business of a Confectioner
�:�rithout first obtaining from the City Collector a Ccnfectioner's
license, and any person firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall on conviction be fined not less
than Ten Dollars (" 10.00) nor more than Fifty Dollars (4�50.00) y and
each day that the violation continues shall constitute a, separate
offense.
S ECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full f once and effect
from and after January 1st, 1946.
