AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5871; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PUIPOSES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 5871 (amending
Section 4 of Ordinance No. 5372 of the Ordinances of the
City of Little Rock, as amended) is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"In computing the 300 feet as set
forth in Section 1 of this Ordinance
(amending Section 4 of Ordinance No.
5372, as amended) the computation shall
be made from,the nearest point of the'
church or school to the nearest point
of the building or place where beer or
light wine is sold."
SECTION 2. Because the unrestricted sale of beer in
proximity to places of public education and worship is ini-
mical to the best interests of the community and because
this Ordinance will prevent such conditions, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance is found to
be necessary for the protection of the public peaee, health,
and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
