AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO THE VETERANS
INFORMATION CENTER; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY'THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The sum of Three Thousand Dollars is hereby ap-
propriated out of the General Funds of the City of Little Rock,
or payment' to 'the' Veterans Information diWir and the Mayer
and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to issue the
Warrant of the City, in the amount mentioned, to the payee named
above, and drawn on the General Funds of the City of Little Rook.
SECTION 2. Because the Veterans Information Center furnishes
to Veterans of World War II information vitally needed to enable
such Veterans to re-establish themselves in the community, and
assist in Veterans problems of guidance and adjustment, and be-
cause without this service many such Veterans would find undue
difficulty and delay in adjustment and re- establishment in the
community life so that the community would be deprived of their
talents and abilities, and because these funds are necessary to
enable the Veterans Center to carry on this useful and vital
work, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordi-
nance is found to be necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health, and safety and shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage.
