ORDINANCE NO. 698
AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE ALLEY IN BLOCK 13 POPEtS ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
Whereas, a petition was duly filed with the City Council
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 8th day of April, 1946,
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon the alley running North
and South through Block 13, in Popets Addition to said City, now ap-
pearing of record in Plat Book H , Page _, in the office
of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, beginning.at the South
side of Third Street and ending at the North side of Fourth.Street;
and
Whereas, after due notices as required by law, the Council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that said
alley, hereinbefore described, has heretofore been dedicated to the
Public
use as an
alley,
has
not
been
actually used by
the
public gen-
erally
since the
filing
of
said
plat
on the 8th day
of
March ,
1834 . That all the owners of the property abutting upon the alley
to be vacated have filed with the Council their written consent to
such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not be
versely affected by the abandonment of such alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby re-
leases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights
of the public generally, in and to the alley designated as follows:
The alley running North and South through Block 13,
in Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, and running from the South side of Third
Street to the North side of Fourth Street through
said Block.
Section 2. k copy of the ordinance duly certified by the
City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the recorder of the County

and recorded in the deed records of the County.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
