SECTION 1. The Superintendent of Parks and Recreation
is hereby authorized to conduct a summer Recreation Program for
the youth of the City of Little Rack, Arkansas; and for such pur—
pose, he is authorized to employ such person and assistants as he
deems necessary or helpful for a period of less than six months,
and to purchase such equipment as he considers appropriate.
r= SECTION 2. The Superintendent of Parks and Recreation
is authorized to expend and there is hereby appropriated from the
General Fund, the sum of 09,930.00, to accomplish the purposes
set out in Section 1 of the ordinance.
SWTION 3. Because a Recreation Program is found to be
vital to the best interest of the youth of this connunity, Ln order
to develop the bodies and train into citizenship the minds of the
youth of Little Rock; and because it is found that this Recreation
Program will accomplish these ends, an emergency is hereby de-
clared to exist, and this ordinance is found to be necessary for
the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
