AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, `2HL APPOINTiaENT OF A Dv.;PUTY CITY
TttEASURER, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHERLAS, in the event the City Treasurer is ever absent from
the City or State, there is no person who could perform the duties
imposed upon such City Treasurer, and
WHEREA61 it is conceivable that situations might arise
wherein the immediate attention of the City Treasurer would be required
for the efficient operation of the business of the City,
NOW THER�FUFtE BE IT ORDAINED jsY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLL RUCK:
oECTION 1. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to appoint
a Deputy City Treasurer, empowered, directed, and designated to perform
any and all of the duties and functions of the City Treasurer in the event
the City Treasurer is incapacitated through illness, or is outside of the
city limits of the City of Little Rock and unable to attend to any press-
ing business matters of the city which may arise.
6LG T1UN 2. ahould it become necessary for the Deputy City
Treasurer to sign any instrument or document in the absence of the
City Treasurer, he shall sign his own name with the phrase thereunder,
"Deputy City Treasurer."
6LCTION 3. The Deputy City Treasurer shall act as City
Treasurer, only if and when the City Treasurer is incapacitated, or
out of the city, and shall net be deemed a regular employee of the city.
ULCTION 4. The Deputy City Treasurer shall receive no re-
muneration for services performed during the time the City Treasurer
Is incapacitated or out of the city,from the City of Little Rock.
aL „TIUN 5. All Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed, and this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its pass- ,,-e.
