AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE SALARY OF PERSONS
OPERATING ASPHALT DISTRIBUTORS DURING THE TIME
OF SUCE OPERATION AiID FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAIIIED BY T1177, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. During the time any person employed
by the Street Department is engaged in the operation of
an asphalt distributor, his salary shall be increased at
the rate of Eighteen Dollars 018.00) per month. If such
person is engaged in the operation of the asphalt distrib-
utor for a part of a month, this increase shall be prorated
for the time which he has actually operated the distributor.
SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the City Engi-
neer to certify to the appropriate city official the time
such person or persons are operating the asphalt distrib-
utor in order that a correct payroll may be made.
SECTION 3. The operation of such asphalt distrib-
utor is essential for the necessary repair and maintenance
of the streets of the City of Little Rock, and it is neces-
sary that this work be done i=.ediately in order to protect
the public peace, health and safety; therefore, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
