AN ORDINANCE CREATING THREE ADDITIONAL POSITIONS
OF PATROLMIEN IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAIN7D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ThE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS,
SECTION 1. Three additional positions of
patrolmen in the Police Department of the City of Little
Rock are hereby created.
SECTION 2. The persons to fill the positions
hereby created by Section 1 of this ordinance shall be
chosen by the Civil Service Commission in the manner pro-
vided by law, shall possess such qualifications as are
set forth by the Civil Service Commission and shall re-
receive a salary of the same amcunt as are paid other
employees of the Police Department similarly situated.
SECTION 3. Such patrolmen shall be under the
direction and control of the Chief of Police and shall
perform such duties as are prescribed by law and regu-
lations for patrolmen in the Police Department of the
City of Little Rock.
SECTION 4. Inasmuch as the public peace,
health and safety of the citizens of Little Rock require
additional protection and police services immediately,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordi-
nance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and al- ,proval, and all ordinances and parts
of ordinances that conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
