E `, tine Arkansas Livestock Show Association, a non - pr ofit. l association, incorporated under the laws of the State of Arkansas, to aid and encourage the breeding and rearing of livestock in Ark- has acquired for permanent show purposes an area of land ly- 'ing between Park and Rice Streets extending South from Roosevelt Road; and T60R$AS said association is leveling off at street level the said area immediately South of said highway for use as an entrance to and exit from the show grounds and it is deemed advisable both for the convenience of the public and as ,a safety measure that the concrete I curbing be.removed fr©m said area; and RYAS this Council deems it necessary in the preservation,of public safety and in the prevention of traffic congestion that said curbing-be removed; now therefore ffi IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK SECTION 1. That the Arkansas Livestock Show Association be and it is hereby authorized to remove 101 feet of the concrete eurb,on the South side ,of Roosevelt Read beginning at the Southeast corner of the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Denison Street4 running East along said Roosevelt Road for a distance of 101 feet and to remove 28 feet the concrete curbr+rm on the Southwest corner of 8 ® ®aevelt Road and DenUon Streetf; that the payment of any permanent fees for i • j the removal thereof is hereby waived, SECTION' 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed to the extent of conflict with this ordinance. SECTION 3. Since the heavy traffic along Roosevelt Road during the period the livestock show is underway is found to constitute a hazard to the public safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, sse • i oisxWsaxmt Sul. 23 ,1946.
