AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POSITION
OF 3RD ASSISTANT CHIEF OF THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT, CR- ATTNG FOUR DISTRICT
CHIEF POSITIONS'iROVIDING FOR A
PERSONNEL AND RECORDS DIVISION DE-
CLARING AN EYERGENCY ) AND FOR O+HER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There are hereby created four
(4) positions of District Chief of the Little Rock
Fire Department.
SECTION 2. The position of 3rd Assistant
Chief and Fire Inspector and the position of De-
partment Secretary are hereby abolished, and the
person occupying each of these positions shall
hereafter have the title and rank of District Chief,
and shall be assigned to perform such duties as the
Chief of the Fire Department may direct, provided,
however, that the person who performs the duties,
formerly performed by the Department Secretary,shall
be in charge of the Personnel and Records division of the
Fire Department to be established by the Chief of
the Fire Department and shall not be el -.ible to
perform supervision or control over any actual fire'
fighting activities.
SECTION 3. The salary of a District Chief
shall be y;233.82 per month.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed,
and unless the provisions of this ordinance are put
into effect immediately the public peace, health
and safety of the citizens of Little Rock will be
adversely affected, therefore, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
