ORDINANCE NO. 7140
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY FOR
CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1946 FOR VARIOUS FUNDS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the rate of taxation on real and
personal property in the City of Little Rock for certain City
purposes for the year 1946, be and the same is hereby fixed and
established and levied as follows:
For General purposes in order to carry on the affairs of
the City government under Section 4, Article 12, of the
Constitution of 1874, there is hereby levied a tax of Five
(5) mills.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond
Issue of May lots 1925, and refunding issue of November
lot, 1935, and refunding issue of November let, 1939, a
tax of three (3) mills; and Ordinance No. 3789 is hereby
amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1946.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rook as may be required in the Airport, Fire
Equipment and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November let,
1929, a tax of Ninety Hundredths (.90) of a mill.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Municipal
Auditorium Bond issue of February lot, 1937, and Municipal
Auditorium 2% Refunding Bond issue of August 1, 1945, a
tax of One (1) mill; and Ordinance No. 5509 and Ordinance
No. 6913 are hereby amended only insofar as to apply to
levy for the year 1946.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and
of Little Rock as may be required in
Bond issue of February 1st, 1937, a

For the purpose of paying Bonds and

For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the 1j% Airport Refunding
Bond issue of March 1, 1945, a tax of One and Fifty -five_
Hundredths (1.55) mills; and Ordinance No. 6762 is hersb
,mended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1946.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rook as may be required in the Fair Park Improve-
ment Bond Issue of October lots 1940, a tax of Ten Hundredths
(.10) of a mill.

For the purpose of paying Firemen's Pensions, in accord-
ance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
5, 19400 and Act 14 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of the State of Arkansas for the year 1941 and the acts
amendatory thereto, a tax of Sixty Hundredths (.60) of a
mill.
For the purpose of paying Policemen's Pensions, in
accordance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
5, 1940, and Act 16 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of the State of Arkansas for the year 1941 and the acts
amendatory thereto, a tax of One (1) mill.
For the purpose of maintaining the City Library, in
accordance with the provisions of an amendment to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
5, 1940, a tax of One (1) mill.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski
County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended
on the tax books of Pulaski County and collected with the other
taxes for the year 1946.
SECTION 3. Action under the terms of this ordinance
is immediately necessary if the public health
protection be not seriously curtailed, and as
would result in endangering the health, lives
citizens of Little Rock, therefore an emergen
to exist and this ordinance shall take effect
from and after the date of its passage.
