ORDINANCE NUMBER 7208
AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF THE
ALLEY IN BLOCK TWO (2), HILLCREST ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council
of.-the-City of— .Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 17th day.of February,
1947, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon all that portion
of the alley designated on the plat of Hillcrest Addition to the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, now appearing of record in Plat
Book 1, Page 57, in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, beginning at the East end of Lot 8, thence running West
a distance of approximately 158 feet to the West lines of Lots
71 8, 9 and 10, Block 2, Hillcrest Addition to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, Block 2 being bounden by Hillcrest, North Lookout,
North Jackson and Van Buren, extended; and,
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Council
has, at the time *and place mentioned in the notice, heard all
persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that
the portion of the alley, hereinabove described, has heretofore been
dedicated' to the Public use, and has not been used by the public
generally for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing
of the plat; that all the owners of the property abutting upon the
portion of the alley to be vacated have filed with the council their
writteh..consent to such abandonment; and that the public interest and
welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such
portion of the said alley.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the
public generally, in and to the portion of the alley designated as
follows:
(That portion of the alley beginning at the
East end of Lot 8, thence running West a
distance of approximately 158 feet to the
West lines of Lots 7, 8, 9 and 10, Block 2,
Hillcrest Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, Block 2 being bounden by Hillcrest,
N. Lookout, N. Jackson and Van Buren, extended;
the Plat of said Block and Addition appearing
of record in Book 1, Page 57, in the office of
Recorder of Pulaski County.
SUCTION 2. A .ropy of this ordinance duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski Cobftty and recorded in the deed records of the County.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its.passage.
