HomeMy WebLinkAbout7234A 4,* at- ORDINANCE NO..3234 AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITIOTIS OF EXECUTIVE SECRETARY TO THE L!AYOR, AND ASSIS^1ANT SECRETARY TO THE MAYOR, DEFINING THE DUTIES AND FIX?NG THE SALARIES THEREOF, AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT, DECLARING AI? E TER - GENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The positions of executive secretary to the Mayor and assistant secretary to the Mayor are here- by established. The persons to fill such positions shall be appointed by the Mayor. SECTI,_1N 2. The executive secretary to the Mayor shall perform such duties as may be designated bpi the Mayor from time to time, and such duties shall include coordination of departmental activities, preparation of the municipal budget, facilitating economical municipal operation, and promotion of efficiency. The duties of the executive secre- tary to the Mayor shall also enclude, under the cl rection of the Mayor, the keeping of such records as may be necess- ary to shove at all times the -budget conditions of the City. SECTION 3. The assistant secretary to the Mayor shall perform such duties and functibnb as may be required by the Mayor. SECTION 4. The executive secretary to the Mayor shall receive a salary of $4,200.00 per year, which salary may be increased by the direction of the IvTayor from time to time as he may see fit to the sum of $- 4,800.00 per year, to be paid as are other employees of the administrative depart- ment of the city government. The assistant secretary to the Mayor shall receive a salary of t.,100..0,0 per year to be paid as are other employees of the administrative department of the city government. -2- SECTION 5. Ordinance #5683 of the City of Little Rock is hereby amended to conform with the provisions of this ordinance, and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions of this crdinance are p ut into effect immediately, t:e public peace, health, and safety of the citizens of the City of Little Rock will be adversely affected, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passa7e and approval.
