HomeMy WebLinkAbout7450ORDINANCE NO. 7450 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 4 OF SECTION 34 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4866 BY PERMITTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN EXHIBITION BUILDINGS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER.'PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: -section 1: Sub�sect on, 4 -off `.: the ordinances of the city of amended to read as follows: swat on 34 of ordinance #4866 ; ©f Little Rock, Arkansas is hereby 114. Public Buildings. For public buildings, firesafe and slow- burning construction shall not exceed ten thousand (10,000) square feet; ordinary construction shall not exceed seven thousand (7,000) square feet; protected -frame construction shall not exceed three thousand (3,000) square feet; and frame construction shall not exceed two thousand (2,000) square feet, provided, however, that the foregoing area limitations shall not apply to public buildings constructed outside the fire limits and designed for the display of animals when (1) the normal use of such buildings shall not exceed 15 days in any one calendar year, (2) such buildings have no side walls, and (3) such buildings are at least 50 feet distanti from any other permanent building." Section 2: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby amended to conform to the pro - visions of Section 1 of this ordinance. Section 3: Because the present limitations in ordinance 4866 prevent the construction of various needed exhibition structures and because such delay will interfere with making said buildings ready for uKe in the near future, all to the detriment of the livestock industry of the State of Arkansas, and because the provisions of this ordinance will correct such situation, an emergency is hereby declared to exist; and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
