BE IT ORDAIM BY TEM CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLL ROCK,
ARRANUS:
SECTICK 1. Sub- paragraph (j) of Paragraph 4, Section 35,
Article 4 of Ordinance 4866 is hereby repealed and the following
is substituted therefors
"Drop awnings attached to buildings may extend beyond the
street line across the sidewalk, but not nearer than eighteen
(18) inches to the curb line, provided that, when let down to
their full extent they are not less than seven (7) feet above

the sidewalks at all points. Wood slat awnings shall be con-
structed of species of wood classified by the Forest Produats
Laboratory as being highly resistant to decay under conditions
favoring decay. The slats shall be fastened to adequate frame
work and the entire assembly shall be securely attached to the
building. The width of any awning shall extend across the width
of only one opening and each awning shall be independent of other
awnings. The projection of any awning shall not exceed ten (10)
feet from the face of the building nor shall the outer most part
of the awning be nearer the curb than one (1) foot. The lowest
part of any awning shall be not less than seven (7) feet above
the sidewalk immediately below. Metal slat awnings shall be con-
structed of non - corrodible metal or metal which has a norrcorrodible
surface and shall comply in all other respects to the requirements
for wood slat awnings."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after the data of its passage and approval.
