AN ORDINANCE._ CREATING FIFTEEN (15) ADDITIONAL POSITIONS
IN THE BTMET_ _: .; DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
PROVIDING A METHOD FOR THEIR SELECTION, ESTABLISHING THE
SALARIES THEREFOR, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The following additional positions are hereby
created and established in the Street - Department of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Eight (8) Laborers
One (1) Steamroller Operator
Six (6) Truck Drivers
SECTION 2. The persons occupying the positions of Laborers
shall receive the sum of $135.94 per month; the person occupying
the position of Steamroller Operator shall receive the sum of
$189.38 per month; and the persons occupying the positions of
Truck Drivers shall receive the sum of $175.32 per month.
SECTION 3. The persons to fill such positions shall be select-
ed by the Civil Service Commission of the City of Little Rock in
the manner provided by law, and shall have such qualifications as
may be deemed appropriate for their respective positions as shall
be established by the Civil Service Commission of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 4. The employees filling such positions shall be
under the supervision, control and direction of the City Engineer
and their work shall be performed exclusively upon the streets of
the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions of this ordin-
ance are put into effect immediately, the public peace, health, and
safety of the citizens of Little Rock will be adversely affected,
therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordin-
ance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
