AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; ATTACHING AND INCORPORATING SAID
ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD FIVE (5) OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the following described territory,
having become annexed to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
by order of the County Court of Pulaski County dated April 12,
1948, subject to the acceptance of said territory by the City
Council of Little Rock, Arkansas, be, and the same is hereby,
accepted by the City Council as a part of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, to -wit:
The Southwest Quarter (SW4) of the Northwest
Quarter (NWJ), Section Thirty, (30), Township
Two (2) North, Range Twelve (2) West, Pulaski
County, Arkansas, said territory being also
described as Blocks One (1) through Sixteen (16),
inclusive, (and the streets adjacent thereto)
of the Park View Addition to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, as subdivided in the Bill of
Assurance and Plat executed by Peoples Savings
Bank on February 25, 1911s and recorded on April
19, 1911, in Plat Book 1, sheet No. 1420 records
of Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Seetion'2. That the above described territory, be,
and is hereby, attached to and incorporated into the Fifth Ward
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Section 3• Because at the present time there is
great confusion as to matters of representation in the City Council,
as to government of the territory affected, and as to voting by
persons in the territory involved, and because all of this is
foreign to orderly representative government and should be
corrected immediately, an emergency is hereby declared, and this
ordinance is found to be necessary'for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety and shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
