AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF MECHANIC IN THE REPAIR
DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DNPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK; PROVIDING METHOD OF SELECTIONI ESTABLISHING THE SALARY
THEREFOR; DECLARIwG AN EMERGEWY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
SECTION 1. The position of mechanic is hereby created in
the Repair Division of the Public Works Department. The person chosen
to fill this position shall be selected by the Civil Service Commission
of the City of Tittle Rock as.ndw provided by law, and such persons
,shall hate such qualifications as are set out by the Civil Service
Commission. The salary of such mechanic shall be in the sum of
$195*00 per month, and shall be adjusted to conform to the
requirements set out in Ordinance No. 7600, passdd April 12, 1948.
SECTION 2. The person employed to fill the position created
by this ordinance shall be employed for repairing and maintenance of
City owned equipment. Such employee shall be under the direction,
supervision, and control of the City Engineer and shall perform such
work and do such duties as directed by the City Engineer of the City
of Little Rock not inconsistent with the terms and provisions of this
ordinance*
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions of this ordinance are
put into effect immediately the public peace, health and safety of the
citizens of Little Rock will be adversely affected, therefore, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
