AN ORDINANCE CHEATING THE POSITION OF BOILER FIREMAN IN THE STREET DIVISION
OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; ASSIGNING THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
THEREOF; ESTABLISHINGTHE SALARY THEREFOR; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
S&JT,.ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The position of Boiler Fireman is hereby created in
the.Streej kyision of the Public Works Departmeent. The person occupying
t posit on shall receive a monthly salary of $180.00, and shall be
a4justed to conform to the requirements set out in Ordinance No. 7600,
passed April 12, 1948.
-33CTION 2. The person filling the above position shall be chosen
by the Ci*i1 Service Commission in the manner provided by law. Such employee
shall be under the direction, supervision, and control of the City Engineer
and.shall perform such work and do such duties as directed by the City Engineer
not inconsistent with the terms and provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions of this ordinance are
put into effect immediately, the public peace, health, and safety of the
citizens of Little Rock will be adversely affected, therefore, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
