BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,

SECTION 1. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 7704 of

the Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, adopted

July 12, 1948, be amended to read as follows:

SECTION 9. Staff. There is hereby authorized

to be employed by the City, subject to compliance
with the Civil Service Regulations, one (1) full time

Planning. Director, who shall be a registered Civil

Engineer or Architect, or who shall become registered
with one of the State Boards of the Profession of

either Civil Engineer or Architect within six (6)

months following his appointment, PROVIDED THAT,

upon the recommendation of the City Planning Com-

mission, the Civil Service Commission may accept,
in lieu of qualification for such professional

registration, such specific training and experience

in city planning as shall qualify the applicant to

Provided further that said Planning Director shall
perform the duties of the position./ The salary for
the position of Planning Director is hereby authorized
in an amount not exceeding $4,500 per annum.
