HomeMy WebLinkAbout7878V :.4.5, ORDINANCE NO 7878 AN ORDINANCE VACATING THAT PORTION OF WEST THIRTEENTH STREET LYING NORTH OF A LINE PARALLEL TO AND 60 FEET DIRECT FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF WEST THIRTEENTH STREET EXTENDING EAST FROM MAPLE STREET TO VALENTINE STREET, A DISTANCE OF 19.1 FEET- 113 WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the _ day of January, 1919, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon as a part of a street all that portion of the street designated on the plat of Jones & Worthen's Addition to the City of Little Rock now appearing of record in Deed Record 32, Page 98 in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County described as follows, to -wit: A strip of land 13 feet wide North and South by 193 feet East and West, South of and adjoining Block 18 of Jones &-Worthen's Addition to the City of Little Rock, and The said strip of land being that portion of West Thirteen- th Street, as platted, lying North of a line parallel to and 60 feet distant from the South line of West Thirteenth Street extending East from Maple Street to Valentine Street, a dis- tance of 193 feet. WHEREAS, after due notice, as required by law, the Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the said portion of said street has heretofore been dedicated to the public use as a part of said West Thirteenth Street; that the same has not actually been used by the public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that the be owners of all the property abutting upon said portion of said street toy vacated have filed with the council their written consent to such abandonment by sign- ing said petition; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of said portion of said street. NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates, and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally in and to the portion of West 13th Street designated as follows: A strip of land 13 feet wide North and South by 193 feet East and West, South of and adjoining Block 18 of Jones & Worthen's Addition to the City of Little Rock. The said strip of land being that portion of West Thirteenth Street, as platted lying North of a line parallel to and 60 feet distant from the South line of West Thirteenth Street, extending East from Maple Street to Valentine Street, a dis- tance of 193 feet. t Section 2. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the City clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of the County and recorded in the Deed Records of the County. Section 3.
