ORDINANCE NO. 19,211
3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK. ORDINANCE
4 NUMBER 18,803 TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE
5 LITTLE ROCK PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION FROM
6 NINE TO ELEVEN; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock created the Little Rock Parks and Recreation
9 Commission in Little Rock, Ark. Ordinance No. 18, 803 (January 7, 2003); and
10 WHEREAS, the Commission recommends an increase in its membership from
11 nine to eleven.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
13 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
14 Section 1. Section 2 of Little Rock Ark. Ord. No. 18, 803 is hereby amended to
15 read as follows:
16 "Section 2. Little Rock Parks and Recreation Commission. A Little Rock Parks
17 and Recreation Commission is created to review, consult and advise the City on matters
18 concerning the operation and maintenance of the parks and recreation department and
19 on matters pertaining to the implementation of the Master Parks Plan, and significant
20 issues involving or affecting these matters shall be referred to and considered by this
21 Commission prior to consideration by the Board of Directors. It shall consist of no less
22 than five (5) and no more than eleven (11) residents of Little Rock, Arkansas who will
23 serve a term of three (3) years. The initial membership of the Little Rock Parks and
24 Recreation Commission will include the citizens already serving on the Little Rock
25 Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. After the initial cycle of terms, the Little
26 Rock Parks and Recreation Commission shall make appointments to the Commission,

each of which must be affirmed by the Little Rock Board of Directors. The Director of
Little Rock Parks and Recreation will serve as an ex- officio member of the Little Rock
Parks and Recreation Commission. The said Commission may from time to time elect
honorary life members, as it deems necessary."
Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, or regulations, or any parts of
such documents, which are inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
