PROVIDING FOR TET11 FAti3,12ENT OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
TO SAID LITTLE ROCK SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, AYD FOR
O'T'HER PUF'POSES .
';'IEREAS, due to the present high cost of operation and ex-
penses, the Little Rock School District is in need of financial
assistance to continue operations, and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interests of all citizens of the
City of Little Rock that the public schools be operated in an
efficient manner, and
`T'HEREAS, the Board of 'dater Work Cornissioners of the Little
Rock T "unicipal later Works, have by resolution granted the City of
Little Rock the swr,, of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) toward
a contribution to the School District,

ANSAS :
SECTION 1. That in consideration of the above facts, and
under the authority conferred by the State Legislature by Act 229
of the Acts of 1931, there is hereby appropriated fror_ the General
Fund of the City Treasury the sure of Fifteen Thousand Dollars
015,000) to be paid to the Little Rock School District, and the
proper city of'icials are hereby authorized and directed to issue
and execute the proper instrumients to accomplish this purpose.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and p::_rts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions of this ordin-
ance are put into effect immediately the public peace, health, and
safety of the citizens of the City of Little Rock will be adversely
affected, therefore, an erAergency is hereby declared to exist, and
this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval.
