CURRAN CONWAY MUNICIPAL S'atiIMITIHM POOL AND THE PLAYGROUNDS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, FIXIING THE SALARIES THHR;A'OF, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED By THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LI'T'TLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The following positions are hereby created in the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Little Rock to oper- ate the J. Curran Conway Municipal Swirreming Pool, and the salary to be paid for each position shall be as stated hereafter: Manager ?333.33 per month`(n t to exeeed�$1000.00 for 1949 season) Asst. Manager x'200.00 per month Life Guards (4) 4.60 per day Checkers (12) X160.00 2.50 per day Concessionaires per 3.00 per day Cashiers (3) month 4.20 per day Night Watchman 4w 4.30 per day Pool Cleaners (2) above, the 2.50 per day Chemist $100.00 per ronth Cleanup Boy $ 25.00 per month Maintenance Personnel .50 per hour SECTION 2. The following positions are hereby created in the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Little Pock to operate the playgrounds at the V!ar Memorial Park and other places within the City, and the salary to be paid for each posi- tion shall be as stated hereafter: Supervisor X160.00 per month' Athletic Director <�160.00 per month Handcraft Supervisor ��145.00 per month Directors (10) p130.00 per month Asst. Directors (5) $110.00 per month In addition to the salaries listed above, the Supervisor and Athletic Director shall receive the sum of 1'40.00 as travel expenses. -2- SECTION 3. The persons chosen to fill the positions created in Section 1 and 2 hereof shall be selected by the Civil Service Commission in the manner provided b-v law, and shall perform such duties as the Superintendent of the Parks and Recreation Depart- ment may direct. SECTION 4. The terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be retroactive to May 16, 1949, and all positions created here- under are for the 1949 summer season only. SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance.shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval$ it being hereby declared that an emergency exists and that the operation of this ordinance is necessary for the benefit of the public peace, health and safety of the citizens of Little Rock.
