SECTliZ 1. There are hereby created the following positions,
_wh1 ch are in addition to the positions now authorized within
the Police Department of the City of Little Rock:
CRIAINAL UNIFC R1 DIVISION OKE CAPTAINT
DETECTIVE DIVISION OLE CAPT «IN,
ONE DETECTIVE SERGEANT

SECTION 2. The duties of the above newly created positions
will be as follows:
CRIMINAL UNrIF014 DIV16ION CAPTAIN.- The Cri.uinal Uniform
Division Captain will be in charge of all the Lieutenants and
subordinate officers in the uniformed criminal division. He
shall carefully note and impartially report to the Chief any
neglect of discipline or duty; he shall perform any other
duty assigned to him b„c, the Chief or assistant Chief of the
Police Department.
DE HIVE DlVI610NT CAPTAIN.- The Detective Division Captain
will be second in command of the Detective Bureau. He will
relieve the Chief of Detectives during his absence and v�ill
perform such other duties as the Chief of Detectives may assign.
DETECTIVE DIVISION SERGEANT.- The Detective Sergeant
created by this ordinance shall replace the Sergeant who has been
assigned to duty urith the County Homicide Squad.
TRAFFIC DIVISIO.Ii SERGEANTS.- One Traffic Division Sergeant
will be designated as the Traffic Department Investigator. He
will investigate the rearocation of driver's license, serve all
traffic warrants, and will follow -up the usual investigation
of hit and run accidents. He will perform such other duties as
the officer in charge of the Traffic Division may designate.
One` Traffic Division Sergeant will be in charge of Safety
Eduoation in the public schools and to the general public, and
will perform such other duties as the officer in charge of the

Traffic Division may designate.
SECTION 3. The persons chosen to fill the positions created
in Section 1 hereof shall be selected by the Civil Sergi ae
Commission in the manner provided by law, and shall receive the
same salaries as the existing members of the Police Department
of similar rank.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions
of this ordinance are pat into effect immediately, the peace,
health and safety of the citizens of Little Rook will be
adversely affected; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in fall force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
