AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 739, AS
AMI!SDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 3260.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 739 of the City Council of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed and approved on October
3, 1898, as amended by Ordinance No. 3260 of said City Council,
passed and approved on July 16, 1923, be and it is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. That it shall be unlawful for any per-
son, firm or corporation to engage in, exercise, or
pursue the avocation, business or enterprise of
selling, giving away, distributing or otherwise dis-
posing of periodical tickets or premium stamps, with-
out first having obtained and paid for a city license
therefor from the proper city authorities as provided
in the next section.
"SECTION 2. Every person, firm or corporation
engaging in, exercising or pursuing the avocation,
business or enterprise of selling, giving away
distributing or otherwise disposing of periodical
tickets or premium stamps shall pay a license of
fifty dollars per week in advance; provided, that
where such person, firm or corporation engages in,
exercises or pursues the avocation, business or
otherwise disposing of periodical or premium stamps
within the city of Little Rock as an exclusive
avocation, business or enterprise shall pay an annual
license of $300.00 in advance.

"SECTION 3. Whosoever shall engage in, exercise
or pursue the avocation, business or enterprise of
selling, giving away, distributing or otherwise
disposing of periodical; tickets or premium stamps
without first having obtained and paid for the same
as above provided shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined
in any sum not exceeding twenty -five dollars for the
first offense, fifty dollars for the second offense
and fifteen dollars for each subsequent violation
of this ordinance, and each day which said ordinance
may be violated shall be a separate offense.
"SECTION 4. This ordinance shall not be con-
strued to apply to the giving by retailers of
stamps redeemable in cash at their face value or to
the sale to retailers of such stamps."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage.
