HomeMy WebLinkAbout8262ORDINANCE NO. 8262 AN ORDINANCE TO VA( AT AND AB OF MITCHELL AVENUE AND A PORTION OF SPRINGDALE AVENUE IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 27th day of ES`04s 1950, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon that portion of Mitchell Avenue and Springdale Avenue in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot Six (6) Block Fourteen (14) Springdale Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, going thence West a distance of Fifty (50) feet, thence North to a point on the Southeast boundary of Lot One Hundred Thirteen (113) Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence in a Northeasterly direct- ion along the Southeast boundary line of Lots One Hundred Thirteen (113) and One Hundred Fourteen (114), Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to the Northeast corner of said Lot One Hundred Fourteen (114), thence in a Southeasterly direction to the Western most point of the North line of Mitchell Avenue in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence in an Easterly direction to a point which is Fifty (50) feet North of the Northeast corner of Lot Six (6) Block Fourteen (14) Spring- dale addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence in a Souther- ly direction Fifty (50) feet, thence in a westerly direction Fifty (50) feet, thence in a Southerly direction One Hundred (100) feet to the point of beginning, and, WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the portion of the streets herein -above described, has heretofore been dedicated to the public use and has not been used by the public for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing of the plat, and has at no time been used as a public thoroughfare; that all the owners of the property abutting on that portion of the streets to be vacated have filed with the Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that the public # 'A -2- interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such portion of said streets. NO3 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to that portion of Mitchell Avenue and Springdale Avenue described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot Six (6) Block Fourteen (14), Springdale Addition to the City of Little flock, Arkansas, going thence West a distance of Fifty (50) feet, thence North to a point on the Southeast boundary of Lot One Hundred Thirteen (113), Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence in a Northeastly direct- ion along the Southeast boundary line of Lots One Hundred Thirteen (113) and One Hundred Fourteen (114)1, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to the Northeast corner of said Lot One Hundred Fourteen (114), thence in a Southeasterly direction to the Western -most point of the North line of Mitchell Avenue in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence in an Easterly direction to a point which is Fifty (50) feet North of the Northeast corner of Lot Six (6) Block Fourteen (14) Spring- dale Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence in a Souther- ly direction Fifty (50) feet, thence in a Westerly direction Fifty (50) feet, thence in a Southerly direction One Hundred (100) feet to the point of beginning= Section 2_. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County and recorded in the Deed Records of Pulaski County, Arkansas. Section 3.
