3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SIMPLEX GRINNELL FOR THE
5 PURCHASE OF A FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM IN THE AMOUNT OF
6 FIFTY -FIVE THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED SIXTY -TWO DOLLARS
7 ($55,262.00) PLUS TAX, FOR THE LITTLE ROCK INFORMATION
8 TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT SERVER ROOM, LOCATED AT 7000
9 MURRAY STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department is completing construction on a second data
center at 7000 Murray Street for business continuity purposes; and,
WHEREAS, there is a need to have a proper fire suppression system in place in this facility given the
equipment that will be located there; and,
WHEREAS, Bid # 12293 was issued to obtain competitive bids for the purchase of a fire suppression
system for the server room located at 7000 Murray Street, and Simplex Grinnell submitted the only bid
for such system, said bid being in the amount of Fifty -Five Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty -Two Dollars
($55,262.00) plus tax, for all of the labor and materials for the system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
Simplex Grinnell for the purchase of a fire suppression system, to include all labor and materials, for the
amount of Fifty -Five Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty -Two Dollars ($55,262.00) plus tax, for the Little
Rock Information Technology Department Server Room located at 7000 Murray Street.
Section 2. Funds for this purchase will come from the City's operational sales tax allocation for the
Information Technology Department.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
