ORDINANCE NO. 838
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION
OF NORTH JACKSON STREET, ORDERING A COPY OF THIS
ORDINANCE FILED WITH THE CIRCUIT CLERK, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHKRFAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council
'cif the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 26th day of June, 1950,
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon all that portion of
North Jackson Street designated on the plat of Newton Addition to
said City, now appearing of record in Plat Book No. 1, page 809
in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, as
Terry Street, beginning at the south line of Country Club Boulevard
(designated on said plat as Circle Avenue) and ending at the north
line of Stonewall Road (designated on said plat as Star Avenue); and
VEWEAS, after due notices as required by law, the council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the
street or portion thereof, hereinbbbvre described, has heretofore been
d*dicated to the public use as a street herein described; has not been
actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five
years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all the owners of the
property abutting upon the portion of the street to be vacated have
filed with the Council their written consent to such abandonment and
have signed the petition for said abaVndonment; and that public
interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandon-
ment of such street;
NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the
rights of the public generally, In and to the street designated
as follows:
NOR`1'H JACKSON STREET ( shown as Terry Street on the
original plat of Newton's Addition) from the South
line of Country Club Boulevard (Circle Avenue on
said plat) to the north line of Stonewall Road
(Star Avenue on said plat)* the plat referred to
being the original plat of Newton's Addition now
of record in Plat Book No, 1, page 80, in the
office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas,

Section 2i copy of this ordinance duly certified by
the City Clerk of this City shall be filed in the office of the
recorder of Pulaski Countyg Arkansasp and recorded in the deed
records of said county.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
fore• from and after its passage.
