AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY FOR
CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1950 FOR VARIOUS FUNDS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the rate of taxation on
property in the City of Little Rock for certain City purposes for
the year 1950, be and the same is hereby fixed and established and
levied as follows:
For General purposes in order to carr on the affairs
of the City Government under Section 4, Article 12, of
the Constitution of 1874, there is hereby levied a tax
of Five (5) mills.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the
City of Little Rock as may be required in the Airport,
Fire Equipment and Hospital Annex Bond Issue of
November lat., 1929, a tax of Eighty Hundredths (.80)
of a mill.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the
City of Little Rock as may be required in the Municipal
Auditorium Bond issue of February lat, 1937, and
Municipal Auditorium 2% Refunding Bond issue of August 1,
1945, a tax of Two and Ninety Hundredths 2:90) mills;
and Ordinance No. 5509 and Ordinance No. 1813 are hereby
amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year
1950.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the
City of Little Rock as may be required in the Fair Park
Improvement Bond Issue of October lst, 1940, a tax of
Ten Hundredths (.10) of a mill.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the
City of Little Rock as may be required in the Park
Improvement Bond Issue of March 1, 19492 a tax of One
(1) mill; and Ordinance No. 7922 is hereby amended only
insofar as to apply to the levy for the year 1950.
For the purpose of paying Policeman's Pensions, in
accordance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to
the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted
November 5, 19400 and Act 16 of the Acts of the General
- = Assembly of the State of Arkansas, for the -year 1941
and the acts amendatory thereto, a tax of One (1) mill.
For the purpose of maintaining the City Library, in
accordance with the provisions of an amendment to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
5, 1940, a tax of One (1) mill.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski
County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended on
the tax books of Pulaski County and collected with the other taxes
for the year 1950.
SECTION 3. Action under the terms of this ordinance is
immediately necessary if the public health program, policy and
protection be not seriously aurtalled, and such curtailment w0414
ehda3gering the health, lives and property of the citizens
of Little Rock, and this ordinance being necessary for the public
peace, health and safety of the citizens of Little Rock, therefore
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
