AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC'T'ION 9 (e) OF ORDINANCE NO. 7466, IN ORDER
TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF ONE INCH PIPE FOR CUSTOMERS' SERVICES WHEN
UTILITY SUPPLY REQUIRES THE USE OF A SERVICE REGULATOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. Section 9 (e) of Ordinance No. 7466 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Customer service pipe shall be not less than one —inch pipe
when the Utility supplying gas requires the use of a Service
Regulator. When no Service Regulator is required by the
Utility, pipe shall be not less than 14 inch in size. When
gas requirements for the structure include boilers or other
equipment requiring large quantities of gas, size of pipe
shall be increased to 2 inch pipe or larger, if required by
the supplier of gas."
Section 2. Whereas, at present the ordinance hereby amended requires
the use of 1*1 inch pipe for all customers' service lines, and whereas, there
is an acute shortage of this size pipe for such purposes, which is delaying
the completion of buildings now under construction or contemplated; and whereas
it has been ascertained that one —inch pipe, which is more available for such
usage, is an equally satisfactory minimum size pipe for customers' service
pipes when supplied from gas utility lines requiring the use of a service
regulator,
NOW, THEREFORE, for the public peace, health and general benefit to the
residents of the City of Little Rock, it is necessary that this Ordinance take
effect immediately upon its passage and an emergency is hereby declared and
this Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
