UNDER CIVIL SERVICE, DESIGNATING THE DUTIES THEREOF, ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES TO IE PAID THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING THAT THE CITY SHALL MAKE A CONTRIBUTION OF FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) PER MONTH TOWARD THE SALARY OF THE CASE WORK INTERVIEWER ATTACHED TO THE JUVENILE COURT OF PULASKI COUNTY REPE LL ING ORDINANCES NO. 6656, 6708, 7013, 7332 AND 81$7, AND i FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, 'AAWSAS: SECTION 1. That two (2) positions of Matron in the Health Department of the City of Little Rock are hereby created. SECTION 2. That the compensation for these positions shall be that as provided for under Range 13 of Ordinance No. 8656, in which the minimum salary is established as One Hundred and Fifty Dollars (150.00) per month and the maximum salary One Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($170.00) per month. SECTION 3. That the two positions of Matron in the Health Department are hereby placed under Civil Service in accordance with the provisions of Act 322 of the 1937 Acts of the Arkansas Legislature. That all persons who shall fill th6se positions shall be selected by the Civil Service Commission of the City of Little Rock as provided by law. SECTION 4. That such persons who shall be employed as Matrons are directly under the supervision of the City Health Officer of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and shall perform such duties as he may assign to them. That subject to such assigr=ent these Matrons who may be employed shall have the duty of receiving the women prisoners assigned to the women's quarters in the City Jail, of overseeing the safe- keeping of such prisoners, and such other duties as may be required. SECTION 5. The sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per month is hereby established as the amount of the City's contribution toward the salary of the Case Work Interviewer attached to the Juvenile Court of Pulaski County, because said employee is using a great deal of her time in the discharge of matters connected with the City's affairs. t . ,& -2- SECTION 6. That Ordinances No. 6656, 6708, 7013, 7332, 8187 and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
