ORDINANCE NO. 867
AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND BRAKES
WHICH SHALL BE CARRIED BY MOTOR VEHICLES OPERATING IN
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That every motor vehicle other than a
motorcycle when operated upon the streets of Little Rock shall

and to stop and hold such vehicle, including two separate
means of applying the brakes, each of which means shall be

effective to apply the brakes to at least two wheels. If
these two separate means of applying the brakes are connected
in any way, they shall be so constructed that failure of any
one part of the operating mechanism shall not leave the motor
vehicle without brakes on at least two wheels.
SECTION 2. Every motorcycle and bicycle with
motor attached when operated upon a street shall be equipped
with at least one brake which may be operated by hand or foot.
SECTION 3. Any person or persons found guilty of
violating this ordinance in whole or in part shall be subject
to a fine of not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) or more than
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
