AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING TI3E KEEPING OF A REGISTER VITH
CORRECT NAMES OF PATRONS THEREON BY PLACES OF AI3ODE
FOR INSPECTION, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
ICE IT ORDAINED 71 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION; 1. That all persons who let or rent out rooms
' ,f x'.rp4t by day, night or week. shall keep a record showing the
signature of the person so renting and occupants of said room
written in ink with the street and home address of each and
every person temporarily residing in the building in which they
may rent rooms.
SECTION 2. That erasures and alterations on this list
shall not be permitted to be made for any purpose and the names
and addresses shall be retained for a period of not less than
one year.
SECTION 3. Said register or list shall be open for
police inspection by any proper officer at any time, and all
persons renting rooms shall report to the police any suspicious
character who may apply for rooms and shall report all
suspicious acts of any person to whom rooms may have been
rented.
SECTION 4. Every person who shall violate any sec-
tion of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and, upon conviction in Municipal Court, shall be fined in any
sum not more than $100.00.
SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and uhless the provisions
of this ordinance are put into effect immediately, the public
peace, health and-safety of the people of Little Rock, Arkansas,
will be adversely affected; therefore an emergency is hereby
,declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
