AN ORDINANCE ATENDING ORDINANCE NJ. 8656 BY TRANSFERRING
CERTAIN POSITIONS FRJM ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT TO THE
POLICE DEPART1,1ENT, CREATING AN ADDITIONAL POSITION OF
PAINTER, ABOLISHING A POSITION OF LABORER, AND FOR O';HER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
` SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 8656 is hereby amended to
include the following changes:
(a) Trans`er the positions of Painter - Foreman and Painter
from Section 9 Engineering Department to Section 14, Police
Department.
(b) Abolish the position of Laborer listed under Building
Maintenance of Section 9, Engineering Department.
(c) That one (1) additional position of Painter is hereby
created in.Section 14, Police Department, with the salary Range
of this position to be in accord with Section 2, Range 18.
The Derson chosen to fill this position shall be. selected
by the Civil Service Commission in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 2. That all the above employees are non-
uniformed employees and are therefore not eligible for retirement
under the Police Pension System which was created f or the benefit
of uniformed employees of the Police Department. That since
provision cannot be made for their retirement under the Police
Pension System, the retirement of these employees shall be
provided for through Social Security.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and a pproval.
