AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY,
THE OWNERS OF LOTS 1, 2, 3, 41 BLOCK 72 OF THE ORIGINAL CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, FOR A PERIOD OF NINETY -NINE YEARS FROM
OCTOBER 11 1951, FOR AN ANNUAL RENTAL OF ONE DOLLAR, THE RIGHT TO
EXCAVATE AND USE THE SPACE UNDERNEATH THE SIDEWALK ALONG AND
ADJACENT TO THE NORTH SIDE OF SAID LOT AND EXTENDING TWELVE FEET
NORTH OF THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF WEST SEVENTH STREET AND THE
RIGHT TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN FOR SAID PERIOD A SIDEWALK LIFT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, the
owners of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block 72, of the original city of
Little Rock, Arkansas, be, and they are hereby granted the right to
excavate and use the space underneath the sidewalk along and ad-
jacent to the north side of said lot and extending twelve feet north
of the south property line of West Seventh Street and to construct
and maintain therein foundations, footings, substructures, basements,
and extensions of the basement of the building as now standing or
as may hereafter be erected on said lot.
SECTION 2. That the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, owner
of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block 72, of the original City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, be, and they are hereby granted the right to con-
struct and maintain on West Seventh Street adjacent to said lot
a sidewalk lift.
SECTION 3. That the $oard of Public Affairs of the City of Little
Rock be, and it is hereby authorized and directed to enter into
and complete a lease agreement for the use of the above mentioned
areas as hereinabove provided for a period of ninety -nine ears
from October 1, 1951, at the yearly rental of One Dollar (11.00).
SECTION 4. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed but only insofar as they affect this
ordinance.
