AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AD DIRECTING THE SU31ISSION
TO THE,QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, OF THE QUESTION OF THE ANNE WION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK OF LANDS CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY AND
LOCATED IN PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, SAID LANDS BEING
AN AREA OF LAND ADJOINING THE SOUTH AND EAST BOUNDARIES
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCS, LYING IN SECTIONS 11,14, 231

SECTION 1. That certain real property hereinafter
described and which is located in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and
is contiguous to the South
and East boundaries of
the
City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, and
which lies in Sections
13,
34, 231
24 and 26 in Township One (1) North, Range Twelve (12) West,
,
and Sections 5,

and occupancy of various houses, residettess and other structures
and by the development of a City housing development, City park
and City airport, which are owned by the City of Little Rock,
and should be annexed to the present City of Little Rock for its
best interests and the best interests of Little Rock and so that
it may be properly protected from the standpoint of health, fire,

peace and safety hazards. That said territory is described as
follows:
E An area of land contiguous to and adjoining the South and
East boundaries of the City of Little Rock and more particularly
described as followst Beginning at the intersection of present
City limits boundary with the west bounds* of Sec. lit, T1N,
R129; thence south along said section line to AM Cor. Sea. 23,
T1N, R12ff; thence continuing south along west boundary of Sec.
23 to SW Cor. Sec. 23; thence east along south boundary Sec. 23
to the SE Cor. Sid} S'I Sec. 23; thence N. to NE Cor. S* Sec.
23; thence east to NE Cor. S* SW Sec. 23, a point on the $'apart

line; thence south along the Cpapaw line to the intersection of
the south boundary Sec. 23; thence continuing south along the
Qaapaw line to the BE Cor. N&i NWi Sec. 26, T1N, R12K; thence
west to the NIA Cor. SFAS NW* Sec. 26; thence south to the SW Cor.
S* NWJ Sec. 26; thence east to BE Cor. SE-1 NEJ Sec. 26; thence
north to NE Cor. Sec. 26, said corner also being SW Cor. Sec.
Tlg, R12W; thence east along south boundary section 24 to the BE
Cor. Sec. 24, said corner kiso being SW Cor. Sec. 198, T1N, R11W;
thence continuing east along south boundary of Sec. 19 to inter-
section of said line with Fourche Bayou; thence in a northeasterly
direction along center of Fourche Bayou channel to an intersection
with the east boundary of NW* NW* Sec. 20, T1N, R11W; thence north
along east boundary J* NWJ Sec. 20 to BE Cor. N* NWJ Sec. 20,
said corner being BE Cor. S* SWJ, Sec. 17, T1N0 R11W; thence
continuing north along east boundary W-J W*.Sec. 17 to NE Cor. at
X111} See. 17, said corner being also the BE Corner SWJ S* Sec. 80
T1N, R11W; thence continuing north along east boundary WJ 111* See.
8, T1N, 111W, and the extension of said line north to the center
of the Arkansas River channel; thence in a northwesterly direction
along said centerline of Arkansas River channel to intersection
with present City boundary line, said point being on the extended
center line of Union Street; thence along the eastern, northern,
eastern and southern present City boundary to the point of begin-
ning, the area being 5.2 square miles more or less.
SECTION 2. That the question of the annexation of
the above- described property shall be submitted to the qualified
electors of the City of Little Bock at the neat general election,
which will be held November 6, 1951.
SECTION 3. That in the event that a majority of the
qualified electors at the election mentioned in Section 2 of
'this ordinance approve of said annexation to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, of the territory herein described in Section 1
of this ordinance, the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney and other
City officials are hereby instructed and directed to take any
and all appropriate steps necessary and desirable to complete the

sanexation of
said lands and territory,
or any part
thereof,
to the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, in
conformity
with the
provision of Arkansas law.
SECTION That the establishment of regular
boundaries to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the
bringing into the City of Little Rock of the above - described
Improved territory now lying beyond the South and East
bodes of the City 1juits is hereby found to be vital to
the public peace, health and safety and an emergency is here-
by declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
