ORDINANCE NO. 8795
AN ORDINANCE LIMITING THE SPEED OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO
FIFTEEN (15) MILES PER HOUR IN THE EDGEHILL ADDITION,
COVERING EDGEHILL ROAD IN ITS ENTIRETY, AND THAT PART
OF CRESTWOOD ROAD AND ARMISTEAD ROAD RUNNING THROUGH
EDGEHILL ADDITION, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the speed of automobiles and other
motor vehicles traveling through Edgehill Addition, covering
Edgehill Road in its entirety and that part of Crestwood Road
and Armistead Road which run through Edgehill Addition, be limited to
fifteen miles (15 miles) per hour.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. That several children
have bden run over by automobiles in Edgehill Addition within the
last few months and there is danger that others may be run over
unless the speed limit of fifteen (15) miles per hour is placed in
force immediately. That for this reason and for the safety of the
inhabitants of this addition, an emergency is declared to be in
effect and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage and approval.
