AN ORDINANCE VACATIiT'G AND ABANDONING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE
STIUET RUNNING BETVVPEN BLOCKS 4 AND 5, WATIUNS ADDITION TO
LITTLE ROCK: THE STREET OR VLY SITUATED IN LOT 4, BLOCK 4,
WATKINS ADDITION, AND THE STREET OR WAY SITUATED IN LOT 1,
RAPLEY ESTATE, IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 14, TOYIN-
SHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 12 WEST.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City council of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the day of " 19fy
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon;
1. The unnamed street, alley or Wray designated as abutting
the West line of Lots 1 through 6, of Block 2, of Barber
Avenue Addition on the plat of the Barber Avenue Addition,
a Subdivision of Lot 4, Block 4, Watkins Addition to
the City of Little Rock, now appearing of record in Plat
Book 1, Page 198, in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County,
and,
2. That portion of the street commonly known as East 28th
Street, but designated as 27th Street on the plat of
Watkins Addition to the City of Little Rock, now appear-
ing of record in Mortgage Book AB -1, Page 82, in the
Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas,
beginning at a point 130 feet West of the Vest line of
Barber Avenue and ending at the East lines of Lots 1
and 42 Rapley Estate, in the NW-41 of Section 14, Township
1 North, Range 12 West.
3. That portion of the street commonly known as East 26th
Street which is situated in the North 60 feet of
approximately the East 262 feet of Lot 19, Rapley Estate,
in the YN,;, Section 14, Township 1 North, Range 12
West, and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning on the North line of Section 14, Township
1 North, of Range 12 West, at a point 1052 feet East of
the point inhere the Quapaw Line intersects the North line
of said Section 14; thence East 262 feet, more or less, to
the NE corner of the NVV�'� of said 'Section 14; thence
South along the East line of the NVa of said Section 14,
60 feet;thence West parallel to the North line of said
Section 14, 262 feet, more or less; thence North 60 feet
to the point of beginning; dedicated by an instrument en-
titled ItDedication of Streetll and now appearing of record
in Deed Book 110, at Page 393, in the Office of the
Recorder of Pulaski County;
17HEREAS, after due noticesas required by law, the Council has,
at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring
to be heard on the question, and has ascertained that the streets, alleys,
or portions thereof hereinbefore described have heretofore been dedicated
to the public use as streets or alleys as herein described; have not been
actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five years

subsequent to the filing of the plats or instruments dedicating the
streets; that all owners of the property abutting upon the portions
of the streets or alleys to be vacated have filed with the Council
their written consent to such abandonment; and the public interest
and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of
these streets or alleys;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the

City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the
public generally, in and to the streets, alleys, or portions thereof,
designated as follows:
(a) The unnamed street, alley or way which is shown as
being 20 feet wide on the plat of Barber Avenue Addition,
a subdivision of Watkins Addition.to the City of Little.
Rock, recorded in Plat Book 1, at page 198, in the
office of the Recorder for Pulaski County, but this street
is commonly shown to be 25 feet wide on the maps of the
City of Little Rock; this street,begins at the Southwest .
corner of Lot 6, Block 2, Barber Avenue addition, and
runs North a distance of 285 feet along the West line
of Lots 1 through 6, Block 2, Barber avenue Addition,
to the South line of Lot 6 of the Subdivision of Lot _1
1, Block k, Watkins Addition. __._.._.
(b) That portion of the street, 60 feet wide, shown on
the plat of Watkins Addition to the City of Little.
Rock, which is recorded in Mortgage Book AB, at page 82
in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, as
running between Blocks 4 and 5 Watkins Addition; from
a point 130 feet West of the West line of Barber Avenue
to the East line of Lots 1 and 4, Rapley Estate, in
the NW 4 of Section 14, Township 1 North, Range 12 West;
this street is commonly known as East 28th Street, but
it is shown on the plat of Watkins Addition as 27th Street.
(c) That portion of the street commonly known as Fast 26th
Street which is situated in the North 60 feet of approximately
the East 262'teet of Lot 1, Rapley Estate, in the NW4,
Section 14, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, and more
particularly described as follows: Beginning on the North
line of Section 14, Township 1 North, of Range 12 Rest,
at a point 1052 feet East of the point where the Quapaw
Line intersects the North Line of said Section 14; thence
East 262 feet, more or less, to the NE corner of the N
of said Section 14; thence South along the East line of the
N4 of said Section 14, 60 feet; thence West parallel to
the North line of said Section 14, 262 feet, more or less;
thence North 60 feet to the point of beginning; this
street is dedicated by an instrument entitled "Dedication
of Street", and now appearing of record in Deed Book 110,
at page 393, in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski
County,'
subject to rights of ingress and egress to existing utility installa-
tions, and provided also, that no structures shall be erected upon
any existing utility lines or to within ten feet thereof, said streets
or ways being shown on a map this day filed in the office of the
City Clerk.

SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified by the
City Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski
County, to be recorded in the Deed Records of this County.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
