ORDINANCE NO. 8840
AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 8829, PASSED FEBERUARY 25, 1952;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 8829, passed February 25, 1952, regulating A
working hours and salaries of members of the Little Roek` ��" �4
Department, being unsupported by the financial condition of the City of
Little Rock, and there being insufficient funds with which to continue
said ordinance in force and render sufficient police protection to the
said Ordinance No. 8829
citizens of the City of Little Rock, /is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2. That because of the financial condition of the City of
Little Rock at the present time, and due to the fact that the citizens of
the City are entitled to the fullest protection of the said Police Depart-
ment as now constituted, and this ordinance being for the immediate
protection of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
