AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE REMOVAL AND RAZING OF
BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES ON LOT 1, BLOCK 130,
ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, WINCH BUILDINGS ARE
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS 615, 617, 617 *, 619,
621 AND 623 WEST 8TH STREET, LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
WHICH BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES CONSTITUTE FIRE,
HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS TO THE PROPERTY AND
HEALTH OF THE CITIZENS OF LITTLE ROCK; DIRECTING

DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the buildings and other structures
located on Lot 1, Block 130, Original City of Little Rock, being
more particularly described as 615, 617, 617 *1 619, 621 and 623
� West 8th Street, constitute safety, fire and health hazards to
the citizens of Little Rock from which fires might develop and
spread to other structures; and they are unsafe from a sanitary
.., paint in that they constitute breeding grounds from which
disease might spread throughout the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. That the owners of such property are
hereby ordered to remove and raze the buildings and other
structures on Lot 1, Block 130, Original City of Little Rock,

more particularly described as 615, 617, 617 *2 6190 621 and 623
West 8th Street, so that the safety, fire and sanitary hazards
to the safety and health of the citizens of Little Rock may be
removed.
SECTION 3. That said buildings and other structures
on the aforesaid described property shall be removed within
thirty (30) days from the effective date of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. That the City Attorney is hereby directed
to take such action and to institute such legal proceedings against
such persons as it may be necessary to do for the purpose of and in
order to enforce the provisions of this ordinance and to remedy the
dangerous and unsightly conditions, the fire hazards and the health

conditions which the said buildings and other structures on
the aforesaid property constitute to the safety, from fire
and health hazards, of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and unless the
provisions of this ordinance are put into effect immediately,

Rock, Arkansas, will be adversely affected; therefore an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
