r ORDINANCE NO. 8917 AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE REMOVAL AND RAZING OF A BUILDING ON PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS .17 ACRE 50x150 FT., BEING PT. S. PT..OF THE NE OF THE SW OF THE WE BEING IN SECTION 8, 1 N. 12 W., SAID PROPERTY BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS 1718 BROWN STREET, LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, WHICH BUILDING CONSTITUTES A FIRE, HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD TO THE PROPERTY AND HEALTH OF THE CITIZENS OF LITTLE ROCK; DIRECTING _ THE CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE .ACTION 6' TO COMPEL THE REMOVAL AND RAZING OF SUCH BUILDING; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; SECTION 1. That the building located on property described as .17 acre 50x150', being Pt. S. Pt, of the NE of the SW of the NE, being in Section 8, 1 N. 12 W., being more particularly described as 1718 Brown Street, Little Rock, Arkansas, constitutes a safety, fire and health hazard to the citizens of Little Rock, from which fires might develop and spread to other structures; and it as unsafe from a a►7 standpoint in that it constitutes breeding grounds for disease which might spread throughout the City of Little Rock. SECTION 2. That the owner of such property is hereby ordered to remove and raze the building on the property described as .17 acre 50x150', being Pt. S. Pt. of,the NE of the SW of the NE, being in Section 8, 1 N. 12 W., more particu- larly described as 1718 Brown Street, so that the safety, fire and sanitary hazards to the safety and health of the citizens of Little Rock may be removed. SECTION 3. That said building on the aforesaid described property shall be removed within thirty (30) days from the effective date of this ordinance. SECTION 4- That the City Attorney is hereby directed to take such action and to institute such legal proceedings against such persons as it may be necessary to do for the purpose of and in order to enforce the provisions of this ordinance and i i Rti -2- to remedy the dangerous and unsightly conditions, the fire hazards and the health conditions which the said building on the aforesaid property constitutes to the safety, from fire and health hazards, of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances In conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and unless the pro - visions of this ordinance are put into effect immediately, I the public peace, health and safety of the people of Little Rock, Arkansas, will be adversely affected; therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
