AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO HIRE APPRAISERS FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ESTABLISHING THE VALUE OF REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
THE LIMITS OF A PROPOSED EXPRESSWAY PROJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized and re-
quested to hire appraisers for the purpose of establishing the value of real property
within the area designated, in H. W. Lochner & Company's "Highway and Transpor-
ta*iawFlan for Greater Little Rock, Arkansas ", dated J4nuary, 1948, as "South
Waterfront Route ".
SECTION 2. That payment of any fee contracted with said appraisers shall
be contingent upon the approval of a bond issue for the purpose of acquiring said real
property for express highway right -of -way at a general election.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed, and unless the provisions of this ordinance are put into effect
immediately, the peace, health, and safety of the citizens of Little Rock will be
adversely affected, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
